As we hit the halfway point of summer 2024, Boxoffice Pro<\/em> takes a look back at 2023 with our yearly Giants of Exhibition ranking, celebrating the top 50 cinema circuits in North America by screen count. Once the dust settled, a tumultuous year for exhibition<\/a>\u2014from the highs of Barbenheimer to the lows of Hollywood labor disputes leading to a light slate that ran well into this year\u2014ended with one major change to the top ten ranking of domestic circuits, as Santikos’ acquisition of the AmStar and Grand brands from VSS Southern <\/a>rocketed the chain to position #8 (from #38 last year). 2023 also saw Round Rock, TX-based Flix Entertainment and Pasadena, CA-based Maya Entertainment (tied with 88 screens) break into the top 50 for the first time, while Colorado Spring-based Picture Show Entertainment (#48) returned to the top 50 ranking for the first time since 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
