C<\/span>GV Cinema Line, the largest multiplex cinema chain in Korea and Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) today announced plans to open 30 Dolby Cinema\u2122 locations in China by the end of 2021.<\/p>\n

CGV, a global cinema player looking to expand its footprint in China, is partnering with Dolby to extend amazing movie-going experiences to their customers. Dolby Cinema is a premium cinema offering that combines spectacular image and sound technologies with an inspired design to deliver a completely captivating experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur collaboration with CGV marks a significant milestone in expanding the Dolby Cinema presence in China with more than 140 sites now installed or committed,\u201d said Frank Bryant, Senior Vice President, Dolby Cinema Business, Cinema Business Group, Dolby Laboratories. \u201cWe cannot wait to work with CGV, a like-minded partner, to bring the spectacular experience only Dolby Cinema can offer to more consumers in more cities across China with 30 new sites.\u201d<\/p>\n

In just over one year, more than 60 movies have been released or confirmed to be released in Dolby Vision\u2122 and Dolby Atmos\u00ae for Dolby Cinema locations in China, including 16 Chinese local language titles.<\/p>\n

Upcoming Dolby Cinema titles confirmed to be released in China include Sony Pictures\u2019\u00a0Blade Runner\u00a02049<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>(China release date\u00a0October 27, 2017);\u00a0Murder On The Orient Express<\/em>\u00a0(China release date\u00a0November 10, 2017); \u00a0Warner Bros. Pictures’\u00a0Justice League<\/em>\u00a0(China release dateNovember 17, 2017); and Director Kaige Chen\u2019s\u00a0Legend Of The Demon Cat<\/em>\u00a0(China release date\u00a0December 22, 2017).<\/p>\n

Dolby Cinema enables richer and more action-packed storytelling through Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The Dolby Vision projection system, which uses state-of-the-art optics and image processing, delivers high dynamic range with enhanced color technology and a contrast ratio that far exceeds that of any other image technology on the market today.
