“I’ve never bought for anyone but myself.”

So Solid Snake famously summarized his approach to shopping. Metal Gear Solid’s soldier of fortune has a credit card as black as his soul after all these years of being really good at killing. However, no amount of money will get Snake the very cool Metal Gear Solid merch on offer exclusively at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Unless of course, he and his friend, Otacon, who, after all, has “con” right in his name, show up. That would be something, huh?

2019’s killer art was created by Mondo, the Austin, TX-based art house known for limited edition movie, TV, comics and game-related collectibles. An 18” x 24” poster offers a stylized take on Snake’s final confrontation with Liquid Snake atop Metal Gear Rex. For $50, attendees can grab the crimson poster at Mondo’s booth while supplies last (and they’re only printing 225, so supplies will probably last about as long as Steve Carell in The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Hey-o!)

Take a look:

Additionally, Mondo will be selling vinyl copies of the Metal Gear Solid soundtrack (released on vinyl for the first time), with a striking picture of Gray Fox’s snowy white Apple Store Power Ranger helmet on the cover.

Here’s a picture that Mondo provided to Mashable:

Mondo’s printing 1000 of those and will be selling them for $30 a pop. But, plebeians like me and you, can grab a slightly-less-cool standard version with our favorite shopper, the Snake himself, on the front sometime later this summer.

It still looks pretty cool and features some of Sniper Wolf’s snarling, notoriously pee-averse, wolves inside the fold:

A wise Snake once said, “A strong man doesn’t need to read the future. He makes his own.” So, be strong. Go get that merch.
